   Is dashboard camera allowed in our civilian vehicles? Or is there a rule stating that only police cars (or other enforcement officer's vehicles) are allowed to install the dashboard camera?

   This is an interesting point. While i'm no legal expert, as long as the operating of the camera doesn't interfere with your driving like handphone does, i think it is legal.

   Maybe other forum members who have law expertise can shed some light here on this? I would be interested to know as well.

   I have came a across a promotional video from a GPS vendor.

   What this vendor did to promote his product was that he mounted a video camera on the dashboard and drove along to show how accurate their product is.

   Almost the entire video clip showed the dashboard mounted video in action.

   Now, if that is illegal, then this vendor is in for a big time.
