I feel irritated with vehicles of heavily tinted windows. It seems that road user are getting more ignorant nowadays on this ruling. I think JPJ/Polis should fully conduct a thorough check on these vehicles & strip off their tint. Usually when seeing these heavily tinted cars, what play in your mind is that there are culprits driving behind it. The authorities should conduct daily campaign on these vehicles because road users seems to ignore what the rules says. So road users out there better watch out if your cars are heavily tinted. As I mentioned in another post - NO USE! Coz I saw many vehicles with PDRM stickers on them, were heavily tinted as well! So do u think the police will punish their own people? ;)

It is not only heavily tinted windows that pose a danger to motorists. I personally find sun screens fitted on the rear windows of cars really annoying as they prevent me from knowing the road condition in front. Driving is about good anticipation and when driving on busy highways like those in the Klang Valley, you would like to be able to see what is happening way out front. I don't like surprises and the need for sudden braking if I can do something to avoid it. I believe that such screens are actually illegal just like windows that are tinted above the level permitted, but the authorities don't seem to be too concerned.

You must be driving too fast and too close to the car in front. BACK OFF and SLOW DOWN.There is no requirement to see through the rear of someone elses car whilst you are driving.

Mick comments that "There is no requirement to see through the rear of someone elses car whilst you are driving."
Maybe you are right that there is no legal requirement to see through the rear window but surely you'll agree that it is SAFER to have an unobstructed view in front so that you can anticipate what is ahead. That was basically my point. So if the car in front of me has a sun screen fitted, I'll keep my distance all right.

@Mick,
It is NOT AN ISSUE about whether any "legal requirement to see thru someone elses car".
It is an OFFENCE to have heavily tinted glass in this country. Period.

To kancil cai, yes I agree its nice to see through to a clear view ahead, and to spinosum, yes it is an offence to have heavily tinted windows, but it doesn't refer to the rear window I'm affraid.
