  1. You will have to post the image @ E-Suggestion. Please provide the following details for us to follow up:

    1. Address where the offence took place
    2. Time and date of offence
    3. Your contact details: name and contact number

It is important that you give us your name and contact number if you want the lawbreaker to be prosecuted or else we can't act on that submission.

Updated: To further clarify the process flow of action below are the summary points.

    1. When pictures are submitted, we initially filters to see if picture is clear enough i.e Number plate clearly visible and then visually identify the offence.
    2. The pictures will be forwarded to Pengarah Penguatkuasa JPJ for further action.
    3. JPJ will begin to file an inquiry process.
    4. Traffic offender will be traced and callep up for an inquiry at JPJ office to defend themself.
    5. At the end of the inquiry, JPJ will then decide the punitive measure (usually summon issued on the spot).

Yeah, clue818 is right! What if the photo of the car belongs to a VVIP!? Will our contact details be also "revealed" to these VVIPs becoz they are powerful people? And what can happen to us then - any assurance or guarantee of our safety?

  6. The purpose of the contact number is to allow enforcement agency to execute standard procedures before they can charge the offender. This includes verifying the image is not altered digitally and they may need further details from sender before they can proceed with the next course of action. Ultimately it will lead to appropriate law action against the offender if the enforcement agency have sufficient evidence (the picture) and details of offence.

We would like to remind the public NOT to take pictures whilst driving. This will defeat the purpose and also endanger your life. Your fellow passenger or perhaps if you're passing by walking, you can take incriminating pictures and send it to us for further action.

Using handphone while driving or other distraction while driving can cause you to have an accident. I personally feel even if you're on hands free, the handphone can distract you from driving. So its best just to switch it off before driving.

  9. As mentioned before, your details will not be published to the public if you submit. Only JKJR and the law enforcement agency will have your information for investigation purposes.

As for punishment, in most cases, JPJ or Police will issue the summons based on the offence. Currently those who submitted the picture will know what kind of action taken because they can track the status of their report once they submit to our system.

We will bring this up to the JKJR web comittee and come up with a feature to allow us to publish the punishment measure/action taken on offenders for better transparency. As of now, only the photo submitter will know what kind of action is taken.

Why only the photo submitter will know what kind of action is taken. It's more transparency if u publish it to all, isn't. Will increase the transparency also.

  11. Fellow Malaysians,

    To clarify the process:

    1. When pictures are submitted, we initially filters to see if picture is clear enough i.e Number plate clearly visible and then visually identify the offence.

ii. The pictures will be forwarded to Pengarah Penguatkuasa JPJ for further action.

iii. JPJ will begin to file an inquiry process.

iv. Traffic offender will be traced and callep up for an inquiry at JPJ office to defend themself.

    v. At the end of the inquiry, JPJ will then decide the punitive measure (usually summon issued on the spot).

The way i see it, when JPJ decides to ask them to face an inquiry, this is where the nightmare begins for the traffic offender.

6 June 2008 - about 1700 hrs, there was a massive jam around Pengkalan Weld towards both ways i.e. Jelutong Expressway and Dewan Sri Pinang. I hope the authority should take action against cars that were parked obstructing the traffic in this area especially near the Shell Petrol Station (Pengkalan Weld)
